About The School

In the 2013-2014 school year an exciting event took place. The Coffee County School System opened the Coffee County Career Academy (CCCA). CCCA is an innovative, non-traditional school where approximately 200 students in grades 9-12 can choose to experience successful learning in a small group, career oriented setting.

The Coffee County Board of Education adopted a resolution in March 2012 authorizing the superintendent and staff to develop a strategic plan and to make application to the Georgia Board of Education for charter system status. Goal five of this strategic plan states that high school graduates will be ready for college, career and life itself. This goal called for the creation of a college and career academy to ensure that graduates are college and career ready. Through combined efforts of School and Industry partners, Wiregrass Technical College, and Coffee County School System, the Wiregrass Regional College and Career Academy has become a reality.

WRCCA is a place where students participate in rigorous, self-paced academics with career-based learning opportunities. Through online, self –paced, interactive computer lessons facilitated by a certified teacher, students complete all required courses for graduation. At WRCCA students have access to more individualized instruction, and they have the opportunity to set their own personalized learning goals and time lines for completion. Focus is on earning credits and not on seat time.

A variety of exciting courses and career pathways are available for students to choose. WRCCA plans to add more pathways as we work with Wiregrass Technical College and our Industry partners.

The Wiregrass Regional College and Career Academy works to provide an equitable and excellent education for every student; the option of a second high school is yet another opportunity for students to succeed. WRCCA will provide a unique opportunity for students who need a different approach to learning.
